How We Work:

There are many paths to a completed building and our level of involvement varies from project to project: from consultation only, to just cutting and raising the timberframe, to being actively involved with all the natural building aspects of a structure from design through completion.

When building a home with a timber frame or straw bale it is most helpful for us to get involved as early in the process as possible. Whether you are designing your own home or hiring an architect or designer, there are many details to include that will affect the overall design and permit process. We then coordinate with the owner/builder, project manager, or general contractor to complete these aspects in coordination with the rest of the building process.

Many owners are eager to assist with natural building elements such as straw bale installation and lime/clay plaster application. We are happy to work alongside owners and volunteers, overseeing these projects and doing detail work, or we can consult with the owners on completing these tasks themselves.

Our Services:
We are available to design, build, and/or consult on any aspect of natural building including: timberframe, straw bale enclosure, earthbag, earthern floors, and lime/clay plasters.
We can also work with organizations to provide presentations, demonstrations, or hands-on workshops on any of these topics.
In addition, we are happy to work with community groups in developing community-build projects using natural building techniques.
